Our team has a strong track record of undertaking research, planning, project management, M&E, communication and advocacy. We also support companies with CSR solutions. We blend rich grass roots and practical experience with rigor in our work. We work across states in India, South and South East Asia.
Co-founder at Development Solutions, Ram has over the last 30 years worked on issues of Natural Resource Management, Health, Livelihood and Rural Development. In his work with the Government, multilateral agencies, academic institutions and civil society organizations, he has undertaken research, evaluations, strategy and planning, program management, capacity development, program implementation and consultancy assignments.
An alumnus of the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram, Ram has an Mphil in Applied Economics.
His professional engagements include – Strategic Planning Director at the AIDS Prevention and Control Project, Chennai; Rural Development Coordinator, Aga Khan Foundation, Afghanistan and State Program Coordinator for the UNFPA. He has also been visiting Faculty in the Schools of Public Health at SRM University and Jodhpur National University and at the Asian Institute of Public Health.
Co-founding partner at Development Solutions, Vasudha has completed her Master’s in Public Health and has been working on issues of health systems, reproductive and sexual health, women’ health, youth and community development over the last 6 years. She has been one of ten fellows globally to be supported by the Maternal Health Task Force, Harvard School of Public Health to undertake research in Maternal Health.
Prior to Development Solutions, Vasudha has been associated with Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation (TSFIF), TRIOs Development Support, a consultancy organisation; Health Information System Programmes (HISP) India and National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC).

Project Coordinator for Development Solutions at Rajasthan, Manoj would oversee the project management support for CSR Interventions of Saurya Urja Limited, a partnership between Government of Rajasthan and IL&FS, in Jodhpur.
Manoj has completed his BA. and B.Ed. Prior to joining Development Solutions he has worked at Room to Read for over five years. During his stint with the Room to Read, he worked on quality of education, forming and developing libraries in schools. He has also worked as a District Coordinator with Rukhali Vikas Sansthan, an NGO, working with the salt workers of the Phalodi region. Manoj thus brings in significant experience of working in the region of Phalodi (Jodhpur) where the CSR interventions are being undertaken. He also brings in experience of engaging with the community and project management skills.

A mechanical Engineer; Ankit, since 2012, has been working on various social media platforms for client engagement and marketing. He also manages a YouTube channel. At Development Solutions, he coordinates the social media, client management and business development. Apart from communicating about our work across social media platforms, he also posts on issues of socio economic relevance - enabling sharing and learning. He undertakes market research for business development and supports projects as required.

Harsha coordinates and manages the skill development activities in Kerala. She brings to the team, significant experience and expertise in organizing and managing skill development programs. Her expertise lies in community interactions and student engagement. She closely interacts with all the trainees and has been a mentor to many of them.

A graduate in Computer Science, Prabha manages our accounts. A keen learner, Prabha has been an integral part of the team at Development Solutions since inception. In addition to managing finance and accounts, she also supports administrative functions and provides back end support to projects.
An Economics and Statistics Graduate, Ashwini is currently pursuing a MSc. Degree in Health Informatics from the Indian Institute of Public Health - Hyderabad. Her research explores the idea of transforming the traditional healthcare system with the help of information technology and communication. Prior to this, Ashwini was part of a fellowship program jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur and the Duke University – Sanford School of Public Policy.
In addition to her research, Ashwini, has designed a mobile based intervention for ensuring continuity of care for women and infants. She has also worked in various domains of Business Analytics and Data Management.
Prabir specialises in participatory communication and has over 25 years worked on issues of social development through communication. He has designed and implemented communication programs and strategies, has undertaken capacity development, developed communication resources, conducted and facilitated participatory theatre and workshops, and undertaken process and video documentation. He has worked with children, adolescents, women and rural communities, using participatory communication and theater to look at issues of child labour, reproductive and sexual health, nutrition, sanitation and many others.
Prabir has been the managing trustee at Media Matters, a not for profit organisation working in development communication; and now is associated with VikalpKriya, his venture to further his passion for theatre for social change. He has also been a consultant with UNFPA and UNICEF; and undertaken consultancy assignments across the country.
Saptarshi Purkayastha, PhD, is currently visiting Assistant Professor of BioHealth informatics at Indiana University-Purdue University (IUPU), Indianapolis, US. His research interests are in health informatics, mHealth, high-performance computing, virtual machines and robotics.
He has previously worked on building innovation portfolio in varied topics of computing in industry and academia such as EMR systems, National Health Information Systems, Telemedicine, CAD applications, mHealth, real-time decision making in robots, and educational technology for dyslexics. He has worked as a consultant to ministries of health on behalf of WHO in South-East Asia Region for the implementation of Health IS in countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and North Korea.
Saptarshi has previously taught Open source software development course at University of Oslo. He has over 15 publications to his credit. Saptarshi is also involved in social work with organizations like Men against violence & abuse (MAVA) and often gathers funding for social causes.
Ranganathan has over 30 years of experience in the corporate and consulting sectors. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he has held several positions in organisations as well as established and managed the operations of JRA, a CA firm as one of its founding partners.
He is at present using his expertise and experience to support development sector ventures and organisations. He is part of the board of SOS Children’s village India; and supports Udayan Care, a not-for profit organisation with their financial planning and compliance. For over 15 years, he was actively associated with developing and promoting the game of blind cricket in India and internationally. He also provides support for the formation and operation of NGO’s/ NPO’s.
V S Gurumani is an independent professional working in the areas of social development, personal and organizational change and wholesome leadership. He was previously the Country Director, India for Project Concern International; and was associated with CARE India as the assistant country director. He is at present also the independent director for the Planned Social Concern, Wadhwani Initiative for Sustainable Healthcare and Railway Children India
Guru has over four decades of experience in industry, consulting and social development. He has acquired Masters qualifications in Management Science, Commerce and Systems Management. An award winning manager and a Rotary International Fellow, Guru’s work includes both line and staff management. He is also an internationally certified Workshop Leader in the celebrated Heal Your Life process of Louise Hay.
