Our team has a strong track record of undertaking research, planning, project management, M&E, communication and advocacy. We also support companies with CSR solutions. We blend rich grass roots and practical experience with rigor in our work. We work across states in India, South and South East Asia.
Co-founder at Development Solutions, Ram has over the last 30 years worked on issues of Natural Resource Management, Health, Livelihood and Rural Development. In his work with the Government, multilateral agencies, academic institutions and civil society organizations, he has undertaken research, evaluations, strategy and planning, program management, capacity development, program implementation and consultancy assignments.
An alumnus of the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram, Ram has an Mphil in Applied Economics.
His professional engagements include – Strategic Planning Director at the AIDS Prevention and Control Project, Chennai; Rural Development Coordinator, Aga Khan Foundation, Afghanistan and State Program Coordinator for the UNFPA. He has also been visiting Faculty in the Schools of Public Health at SRM University and Jodhpur National University and at the Asian Institute of Public Health.
Co-founding partner at Development Solutions, Vasudha has completed her Master’s in Public Health and has been working on issues of health systems, reproductive and sexual health, women’ health, youth and community development over the last 6 years. She has been one of ten fellows globally to be supported by the Maternal Health Task Force, Harvard School of Public Health to undertake research in Maternal Health.
Prior to Development Solutions, Vasudha has been associated with Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation (TSFIF), TRIOs Development Support, a consultancy organisation; Health Information System Programmes (HISP) India and National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC).

Dr. Gopa Nair, is a seasoned and successful strategist and development leader with well-rounded expertise in governance, health, finance, programme development, M&E across continents. He excels at establishing strategic, mutually beneficial business partnerships.
He has been the Global Director of the non-profit arm of telecommunications corporate Lebara Group since its inception in 2010, building it up to a well established organisation across 14 countries. Prior to that he was the Global Policy Advisor of Save the Children UK and has held senior management roles with IPPF, Oxfam and DfiD. He is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, USA and Cass Business School, UK,with specialisation in Strategy & Business Administration.

Riza has done her masters in Development from Azim Premji University. Prior to Development Solutions, she completed a 14-month fellowship with Aajevika Bureau in Rajasthan where she was working on migration and understanding and addressing gender and livelihood issues of the families of migrant workers. She has done a micro research on the life of construction workers in Ahmedabad; and studied the impact of bamboo livelihood on the lives of the rural communities in Uttarakhand. Riza’s interests are in livelihoods and gender.
At development solutions, Riza is coordinating our projects on community development in Rajasthan.

Niharika is a Masters graduate in International Studies from Christ University Bangalore and has interned with the United Services Institution of India, New Delhi. She completed her dissertation on the topic: “India’s International Cooperation on Counterterrorism after 26/11: A Study”. She has also done a Certificate Course on Negotiation and Conflict Resolution. Her interests are in Gender, Conflict Resolution and Rights.
At development solutions, Niharika is coordinating CSR assignments and providing desk based support to other projects.

Kanksha has a bachelors degree in Statistics and a Masters and MPhil in Linguistics. Her focus has been mainly academic research and teaching. She has studied Public Policy at Brown University, RI, while on a Fulbright fellowship. She is currently working on multiple projects handling quantitative and qualitative research and reviewing IEC materials.

Bhavya has been working for the last 3 years on issues of sexual and reproductive health and rights, crosscutting across multiple sectors like health, education, ICT and human rights.
She has conducted extensive research, administered questionnaires, and held discussions and educational trainings with diverse groups. She has a masters degree in International Law and Human Rights from United Nations mandated University for Peace, Costa Rica and a second masters degree in Peace, Development, Security and International Conflict transformation from University of Innsbruck, Austria. Bhavya has also published reports and papers with the United Nations Human Rights Council and Indian think tanks.

A graduate in Computer Science, Prabha manages our accounts. A keen learner, Prabha has been an integral part of the team at Development Solutions since inception. In addition to managing finance and accounts, she also supports administrative functions and provides back end support to projects.
Prabir specialises in participatory communication and has over 25 years worked on issues of social development through communication. He has designed and implemented communication programs and strategies, has undertaken capacity development, developed communication resources, conducted and facilitated participatory theatre and workshops, and undertaken process and video documentation. He has worked with children, adolescents, women and rural communities, using participatory communication and theater to look at issues of child labour, reproductive and sexual health, nutrition, sanitation and many others.
Prabir has been the managing trustee at Media Matters, a not for profit organisation working in development communication; and now is associated with VikalpKriya, his venture to further his passion for theatre for social change. He has also been a consultant with UNFPA and UNICEF; and undertaken consultancy assignments across the country.
Saptarshi Purkayastha, PhD, is currently visiting Assistant Professor of BioHealth informatics at Indiana University-Purdue University (IUPU), Indianapolis, US. His research interests are in health informatics, mHealth, high-performance computing, virtual machines and robotics.
He has previously worked on building innovation portfolio in varied topics of computing in industry and academia such as EMR systems, National Health Information Systems, Telemedicine, CAD applications, mHealth, real-time decision making in robots, and educational technology for dyslexics. He has worked as a consultant to ministries of health on behalf of WHO in South-East Asia Region for the implementation of Health IS in countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and North Korea.
Saptarshi has previously taught Open source software development course at University of Oslo. He has over 15 publications to his credit. Saptarshi is also involved in social work with organizations like Men against violence & abuse (MAVA) and often gathers funding for social causes.
Ranganathan has over 30 years of experience in the corporate and consulting sectors. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he has held several positions in organisations as well as established and managed the operations of JRA, a CA firm as one of its founding partners.
He is at present using his expertise and experience to support development sector ventures and organisations. He is part of the board of SOS Children’s village India; and supports Udayan Care, a not-for profit organisation with their financial planning and compliance. For over 15 years, he was actively associated with developing and promoting the game of blind cricket in India and internationally. He also provides support for the formation and operation of NGO’s/ NPO’s.
